INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND SMALL BUSINESS INSTITUTE (ITSBI) is committed to the vision of fostering a new generation of business leaders around the world engaged in the entrepreneurial development of small businesses and trading partnerships thereby raising standards of living and quality of life so that people may live in greater dignity and freedom.

Program Concept

Management of business today requires a new set of skills and competences that are different from the past. No longer is it sufficient to simply hold an organizational position. Entrepreneurial and innovative thinking and action are now expected of all managers enabling them to add value t customers, reduce unnecessary costs, increase productivity and work to improve the performance and quality of their organization every day.

To achieve this end a new kind of training and education of managers is required. Profound learning achieved through integration of theory and action in seminar format. Ideas are constantly tested in the workplace. Holistic as well as analytical thinking is developed. Knowing how to measure a business’s performance through appropriate statistical methods is learned. Working with people in teams leads to optimization of available talent in the organization. Respecting all people who work in the organization leads to greater motivation and productivity. Working together through cooperation is more productive than adversarial competition.

Time and Place

The Institute holds its seminars twice a year (March and October) at the Hotel “SUZDAL INN” which is situated in ancient Russian city Suzdal www.suzdalinn.ru

This cozy hotel is a pleasant and well-equipped place to study. In this historical and peaceful environment new learning can be developed in small numbers (25-30) of participants.

The Institute welcomes students from other nations as well as Russia so that through mutual understanding and recognition reciprocal trade between international businesses can be realized.

• Master’s degree, Lancaster University, UK;
• Master’s degree, Manhattan College, New York;
• Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, Boston College, Massachusetts;
• Honorary Doctor degree from River College, New Hampshire;
• 30 years experience of university teaching;
• 20 years experience as Dean of Graduate School, River College, New Hampshire;
• 15 years experience of consulting large and small businesses in the USA;
• Successful business owner over many years;
• Has many publications in economic magazines;
• Was close friend and student of Dr. W. Edwards Deming
• Through the years Dr. Quigley has been a proponent of Dr. Deming’s philosophy of management and endeavors to introduce a new theory of management and education through ITSBI seminars
